Are you a student of a Dutch institution doing an exchange or an internship in Mexico? Please read this information carefully!

Dear Dutch students in Mexico,

You have probably heard that The European Union will close its borders to all non-essential travel due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). EU citizens however can return home.

We have heard from many of you already, asking us if it’s best to go home or not. In the end the choice is yours, but currently – with all rapidly changing developments – it seems best to advise you to return home to the Netherlands.

For the latest news from the Netherlands embassy with regards to COVID-19, keep following their Facebook page or Twitter account.

Do not forget to inform your university, possibly they already advised you to return. If you know other students from the Netherlands, please pass them this message.

If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact us via or via +52 55 1074 1410. We have set up a WhatsApp group for Dutch students in Mexico, to exchange information and support each other. Please send a message woth your name, city and purpose of stay in Mexico (exchange/internship) to aforementioned phone number to be added to this group.

Best regards,

Sander Verkijk
Neso chief representative officer
